The LCS features a 15Gb/s switch fabric and supports 80,640 protected DS-0 ports/shelf in TDM applications and 21,504 ports/shelf for VoIP and VoATM.

The LCS platform has completed an independent reliability analysis by Telcrodia and has achieved 99.999994% availability.
